We focus on ecological and population genetics of biological control, biological invasions, plant-insect and insect-enemy interactions, to address both applied issues in management of invasive species, and theoretical questions in ecology and evolutionary biology. As all introduced populations start small, much of our research also applies to conservation of species at risk. Currently, I am using Tribolium beetles as a model system to conduct experimental invasions, and study rescue processes. We also are studying invasions of Drosophila suzukii and biological control of tansy ragwort and tamarisk.
